Tinolang Manok


I asked a friend for the recipe instead of following an online one for this. And boy was it so GOOD!
  • Begin by cleaning the chicken and gizzard thoroughly (half chicken $3.50, gizzard was $0.80 from Fair Price)
  • Chop onion (half) and garlic (3-4 cloves)
  • Cut the ginger (I used half of what I got for $0.70)
  • Cut sayote in cubes ($1 a piece)
  • Saute onion, garlic and ginger
  • Add chicken (cook until white but not fried)
  • Add chicken broth and water
  • Add 1 knorr chicken cube
  • Boil
  • Add the sayote
  • Boil
  • Add pepper and a little more ginger for taste
Serve while hot. All in all I spent $5.30 for this dish and we had it for 2 nights. :)
