Planning for Catholic Baptism in Singapore

July 03, 2013
They don't hold private/special baptism here. Most churches only schedule one baptism every 2 months. You may request for a private ceremony but it depends on the availability of the priest, and you'll probably be denied.

For us, our parish is St Vincent de Paul (http://www.svdp.sg/)

Procedure

Pick a date based on the available schedule by your parish

Fill up and submit the baptism form to your parish (http://www.svdp.sg/pdf/form_baptism.pdf)

The following are required to be submitted with the form:
  • Child's birth certificate
  • Confirmation certificate of the godparents
  • Parent's marriage certificate - NOTE: Some church would require you to convalidate your marriage if not a church wedding (like we had ROM only)
The parents and godparents are required to attend Baptism Preparatory Session.
