Bank transfer vs exchange cash

For the longest time, I have always been transferring money through online banking to the Philippines. I know it was getting lower rates than going to Lucky Plaza to transfer but it saves me the trip plus the transfer rate.

I just recently found though that it's better to exchange your cash and carry it to the Philippines. They have better rate! almost a dollar diff.
