2007

Got married. Planned a baby. But didn't rush it. 

Medical Condition: Hyperthyroidism.

2008

Still hoping for a baby.  Found out that I had fibroids. I went to consult a doctor in Thomson Road, Mt E, Raffles, Metropolitan Hospital. I was told it was fine, if I can take the monthly pains then it's ok to leave it there. It will dissolve once I get pregnant. It was during this year that we went for the first round of fertility test. Egg/ovary test, fallopian tube blocking test, sperm count.  

I was still under medication for my thyroid. I was given some pain medicine for the fibroids.  They found no issue with my egg count as well as my fallopian tubes.  I was prescribed folic acid. My hubby was prescribed GNC Megaman to improve sperm count.

2009

Still trying. Still hoping.  But I just moved to a new company and I've abused my body by moving to a shifting job. 4 days morning. 4 days break. 4 days night. The job was very stressful. It aggravated my fibroids, my thyroid.  Physically I got more sickly.

Medical Condition:  Hyperthyroidism. Fibroids. Low sperm count. Stress.

2010

Still trying. Still hoping.  I moved to another job. Not shifting anymore. I'm not getting any younger and abusing my body is not the way. But my monthly pains was getting worse. I can barely walk during my monthly visits. My thyroid started normalizing once the stress in my job became lesser.

2011

Weight problem. Guess I became too happy with my current job that I started gaining weight. My thyroid was good though. It has normalized thus my doctor said I should quickly get pregnant but still no good news.

2012

January

My monthly pains was just too much that I was recommended for Laparoscopic Myomectomy at Raffles Hospital.  They got 12cm thingy out of me.

February

I went back to Raffles Hospital after a month for check up. Dr Thong said I should wait 3-4 months before trying. I was still low blood so she prescribed me additional medicine. So she recommended to see me by June.

March

I joined a weight management class sponsored by our company to address my weight issues. I went on diet limiting myself to 1200 calories a day to lose about 10 pounds. The iron tablets was giving me diarrhea/constipation. Alternating. My monthly pains was gone but was replaced by terrible LBM during the period and constipations on the days without.

I lost the 5 pounds!

Lost another 5 pounds! Yahoo!

I went back to Raffles Hospital for my checkup.  And oh my.. still low blood. Then she dropped the bomb. Bilateral tubal blockage. And the adhesions. And there was nothing else but IVF.

June

Finishing up my tons of medicines. Plus googling a lot about IVF. Is Dr Thong the one? I added anti constipation medicine because I'm getting worse. I noticed that after my January surgery my hair was getting drier and drier. This month it was so dried up that I had to literally chop it off. And when I did... here I am.. I look like a lion. :(

July

Finally after tons of blogs. I decided to meet up with another gynae. I went to Thomson Medical to meet up SF Loh. He's a charming doctor.  He checked me and found the following: adhesives (my intestine is stuck to my womb), my left ovary is very far from the right (seems like a mistake on my last surgery), my fallopian tubes may not be blocked and he said if it is it should have been unblocked during my surgery (shucks sad). Then he gave us schedule for blood tests plus semen test for my hubby. We talked about IVF and he said it's good to start next month. So I'm scheduled to take all the blood test this Saturday. Then meet up with the IVF coordinator on the 2nd day of my monthly. God willing, we will begin our journey on Aug 10. Wish me LOTS of luck!!!

We went for a vacation just before we began the IVF journey. We started Lucrin as soon as we got back in Singapore.

September

Apart from Lucrin, Puregon has been added to my daily injections. I've tasked my hubby to do the injections. #1 because I'm afraid of injecting myself. #2 to share the experience with him and bond (like team building) :) We are embarking on this journey with hope but not over confidence because we do not want to be disappointed. If God will grant us our wish to have a baby then we would be extremely happy. If not, then, perhaps it's not yet time.

Well, during the course of the IVF, the doctor found out that I have endometriosis. Unsure if it's bad or what. Hope it's not. As of this writing, still waiting for Egg retrieval schedule. Hoping for the best. :)
